I was born in Athens in March, 1981. I hold a degree in Informatics and a M.Sc. in Information Systems from the Athens University of Economics and Business (Greece). My doctoral research was successfully completed in June 2010.

My main research is in the field of Critical Infrastructure Protection. My PhD thesis focuses mainly on Risk Assessment, Criticality Assessment and Interdependencies. In the past I have also researched the topic of Insider Threat. I have also participated in the EU funded project SPIDER which focused on SPam over Internet Telephony (SPIT).

I am currently a member of the Information Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection Research Group at Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in Athens, Greece, where I continue my postdoctoral research.

Between 2005 and 2009, I co-supervised more than ten undergraduate and postgraduate theses on topics related to Information Security, under the coordination of Prof. Dimitris Gritzalis. I also assisted with the teaching of undergraduate as well as postgraduate modules in the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business. My research work in Information Security Education has resulted in forming a Common Body Knowledge of the field, which can be used in postgraduate and undergraduate studies during curriculum or course design.

I worked as a systems administrator in the Information Systems and Databases Laboratory in Athens University of Economics and Business from 2005 to 2008.

I speak excellent Greek, English, good French and a little bit of German.
